Today marks year two of the start of my blog! To say that I have loved sharing with you has been an understatement. My passion for writing has led me to revel in each post that I make.
Here’s to the years to come, and the posts that (hopefully) lead people to inspiration!
I’ve been meaning to write up this post for a while, but didn’t want to spoil the surprise of the baby quilt to the recipients. I’ve also been binge-watching Stranger Things lately, but that’s another story entirely. If you haven’t watched it yet, OH. MY. GOD. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND WATCH IT.
Have I told you how much I love quilting with a jelly roll?!
I bought these flannel jelly rolls at Joann’s Fabric because they were so cute and so soft, I just couldn’t resist. Also, I’m a bit of a fabric junkie, you could say. I had to use two to make the quilt, which ended up being more of a crib size-bigger than the average baby quilt.
Like the regular jelly rolls, you sew each strip together. Once you’re at the end, sew the strips together vertically, cut in half, and repeat the process.
After finishing the top, I picked out the cutest gray polka-dot fabric for the backing and binding.
According to the jelly roll, you can finish the top in about an hour. I would say it takes about two or three hours, but it’s still pretty quick!
I loved this finished product and was actually quite sad to give it away! (Don’t worry, I bought two extra rolls to make another one!)
I love how you put this together

Thank you! With a jelly roll, it actually turns out as a surprise! When you’re sewing the strips together you can’t tell what it’s going to look like until the end.
