I wanted to do some sort of do-it-yourself project or craft today, and had noticed over the past few days that our front door was looking pretty blank. We had long since taken our Christmas wreath down, and I wanted to put up a spring wreath, with yesterday being the first day of spring and all. And this weather! Summer is coming right along.
I had the idea to use cocktail umbrellas to stick around the outside of a foam wreath form. Chris and I combed through Walmart and FINALLY found the cocktail umbrellas we were looking for. The foam wreath cost $6.97 and a 100-pack of umbrellas was $3.97. Not too bad!
The wreath was pretty simple: open up an umbrella and place it into the foam as you wish it to be positioned. Be careful not to push the umbrellas up too far, because they’re very fragile. I broke quite a few. (Twelve, to be exact.)
The wreath took no time at all, and I was surprised at how well it turned out. I’m loving the new springtime addition to our front door!
